This enhancement is expected to aid Bluesky in regaining its growth momentum and attracting more users.
The application experienced a significant surge in users following the U.S. election, as many individuals discovered that Threads was inadequate for real-time news discussions. Consequently, the alternative was X, which remains unappealing to many. This reliance on external funding could potentially compromise its foundational principles. While the Bluesky team remains committed to its decentralized ethos, the platform is evidently adapting to prevailing trends to stimulate growth, which may lead to unavoidable compromises.
At present, Bluesky is experiencing a slowdown in growth, now boasting approximately 25 million users, making it increasingly challenging for the platform to compete with the vast scale and reach of other widely-used social applications.

The concept of decentralized social media indeed represents a more favorable approach, as it diminishes the control exerted by corporate entities and empowers users with greater autonomy. Nevertheless, achieving mass adoption and raising awareness about these platforms remains a significant hurdle.
Perhaps Bluesky has the potential to mainstream the idea of decentralized social media; however, history illustrates that convenience typically prevails in the end.
