If you’re on Twitter right now, you may have seen its users lose their minds over the much-discussed feature Profile Views, as rumors claim it’s being added to the app.
A similar fear swept TikTok yesterday when baseless speculations claimed that Snapchat was bringing back the Best Friends list on October 1, 2022, and it didn’t sit well with people for obvious reasons.
For the uninitiated, Twitter has never enabled the feature that allows you to track the visitors to your profile. This only explains why the rumors about it are spreading like wildfire on the platform.
Rumors about Profile Views feature surface in 2022
Just like Instagram or Facebook, Twitter users have also wondered for a long time if it’s possible to see who has viewed their profile.
While it appears like the speculations about the feature stem from random tweets, the app itself hasn’t addressed or confirmed it to be true.
HITC has reached out to Twitter for comments, but we haven’t received any response at the time of writing this.
However, many have come to believe the widely circulating tweets and are living under the impression that they couldn’t stalk a certain user any longer as they may get to know about the former’s activities.
Twitter only shows Profile visits
For privacy reasons, Twitter has never had the Profile Views feature, although you may find many articles on Google that claim to show you how it can be done.
If there’s one thing that is public, it is the impressions you receive for a certain tweet, but that doesn’t in any way reveal if each of the users has viewed your profile.
The Profile visits, which is displayed at the top of your analytics dashboard only show the number of people who have visited your account.
“This number is reflected across a 28-day period and is updated daily. It also shows how it compares to the last 28-day period,” Twitter blog states.
