Is Late Night Television Facing Its End?
In one of the last skits from the Late Show, Stephen Colbert grapples with the imminent demise of late night TV, seeking assistance from Jon Stewart, John Oliver, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon in the face of a giant wormhole threatening the genre’s existence.
“Why aren’t you guys being pulled in too?” Colbert questions.
“Actually, one of these holes opened during my show last year, but it vanished after about three days,” replies Kimmel.
“Is that what will happen to me as well?” a hopeful Colbert asks, but the only response from his peers is a unified “Shhh,” with several fingers placed gently on the host’s lips.
