For instance, Peter Parker can remove up to three stun counters, while Venom has the power to exile a target creature card from a graveyard. Doctor Octopus’s tentacles allow a player to gain control of an artifact card from an opponent’s graveyard. This is just the beginning, as additional cards are expected to highlight other villains and Spider-heroes, including Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and potentially Miguel O’Hara, who graces the cover of the welcome pack.

Max McCall, the executive producer at Wizards, shared insights with IGN about the decision to create a dedicated Spider-Man set. McCall noted that including characters from the Spider-Man universe in a broader set would likely result in many significant characters being overlooked. While characters like Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales could fit into a non-Spider-Man specific collection, there simply wouldn’t be enough space for fan-favorites like Aunt May.
