James Wehr and Lexi Kramer are currently the focus of an investigation as authorities look into whether alcohol played a role in their tragic deaths following a car accident involving a McLaren, as reported by TMZ.
The Irvine Police Department has informed TMZ that they are conducting a thorough investigation addressing all potential factors that may have contributed to the collision. This includes scrutinizing social media posts made by James and Lexi during their date last Sunday.
Authorities are actively investigating whether James had consumed alcohol prior to driving that night. They are particularly interested in the toxicology results from the Medical Examinerās Office.
In the meantime, investigators are examining social media activity for any insights regarding the coupleās whereabouts and activities leading up to the fatal accident.
A family member of Lexi has shared with TMZ that her social media posts from that day indicated she and James had breakfast together, enjoyed the day, and later dined at Nobu, where they also had drinks at a luxury hotel.
According to Lexiās family, James flew her from Florida to California after they connected online, marking their first meeting in person. Although James was married, he reportedly told Lexi he was in the process of getting a divorce.
One family member revealed that Lexi expressed a profound connection with James, describing how they seemed to āfinish each otherās sentencesā and sharing a bond she had never felt before.
As reported earlier, Wehr was driving his 2019 McLaren sports car early Sunday morning when he lost control and crashed into a tree. Authorities suspect that excessive speed may have contributed to the incident.
In a video obtained by TMZ, Wehr can be seen driving over a slick area of the road. Moments later, the vehicle veers off course and crashes violently into a tree, resulting in an explosion on impact.
Wehrās family has engaged a lawyer who is indicating that they might pursue legal action against the Irvine Police Department and/or McLaren.
The Irvine Police Department has stated that their investigation āwill take months to complete.ā
