The plaintiffs in the lawsuit emphasized that these privacy violations were particularly troubling, especially given that Apple has prominently marketed its devices as champions of user privacy. Commitments to Privacy and User Control from Apple
As part of the settlement agreement, Apple has committed to confirming the permanent deletion of recordings collected by Siri before October 2019. Additionally, the company will create a dedicated web page to guide customers on opting into the Improve Siri feature.
