With a new Ryan Murphy series debuting almost every week, it’s understandable that enthusiasm for American Horror Story has diminished somewhat in recent years. the excitement is back with the announcement of season 13, an all-star crossover designed to re-engage fans who may have drifted away after the 1984 season.
The first teaser has dropped, and, as per tradition, details about season 13’s storyline remain under wraps. What we do know is the returning cast, which promises plenty of thrilling scares and captivating supernatural drama. Familiar faces include Constance Langdon (Jessica Lange), Kai Anderson (Evan Peters), Cordelia Goode (Sarah Paulson), Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett), Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts), Twisty the Clown (John Carroll Lynch), and the Rubber Man (also played by Peters).
This lineup features characters from the Murder House, Cult, Coven, and Freak Show seasons. In a recent interview with Variety, Murphy confirmed that characters from Asylum will also join the fray. “I know which ones the fans liked the most,” he stated, indicating his intention to deliver significant fan service in this upcoming season.
The teaser showcases a list of primary cast members, including some who are not featured in the clip (and notably, no Kardashians):
John Waters is also part of the cast, which adds another layer of intrigue. This list is not exhaustive; as noted by Variety, the ensemble also includes Avantika, Elle Chapman, Berto Colon, Alex Consani, Mat Fraser, Seth Gabel, Tig Notaro, Madelaine Petsch, Fedor Steer, Mena Suvari (who makes a striking appearance reminiscent of the Black Dahlia in the teaser), Zach Villa, and others.
Mark your calendars: American Horror Story season 13 premieres on September 24 on FX and Hulu.
