Analogue has introduced a significant upgrade to its Nintendo 64 remake by adding valuable “modern conveniences” in the latest firmware update. The version 1.3.0 of Analogue’s 3DOS now allows players to utilize a quicksave feature through the innovative “Memories” save-state system. This enhancement removes the anxiety of reaching the next save point while battling low health points (HP). With Memories, gamers can easily capture their progress at any moment and reload it whenever they choose.
The Memories feature was first unveiled with the Analogue Pocket in 2022 and was later highlighted during the announcement of the Analogue 3D console. Although fans anticipated its release, the quicksave functionality was postponed and did not accompany the console’s launch in November 2025. Now that it’s finally available, Analogue has implemented hotkeys for creating Memories, compatible with both 8BitDo’s 64 Controller and the original N64 controllers. Players can save up to 20 different files using Memories. If a new quicksave is made, the oldest file will automatically be deleted, though users have the option to pin specific Memories to ensure they remain intact.
Owners of the Analogue 3D can download this latest firmware update, which also includes various bug fixes, from the company’s official website. While this news is exciting for current users, those who wish to purchase an Analogue 3D will need to stay tuned for stock notifications, as both the standard and limited-edition models have been unavailable for some time now.
