Get ready to experience a more personalized gaming environment with the revamped Xbox home screen. Microsoft is set to roll out exciting new features for Xbox Insiders that will enhance user customization and streamline access to your favorite games. As announced on Xbox Wire, players will soon have the ability to declutter their dashboard and prioritize their most-played titles, making it easier to jump into action without unnecessary distractions.
The first significant enhancement is the option to pin up to three of your most loved games or applications directly to the recently-played list. This feature ensures that your preferred titles remain prominently displayed, even if you decide to launch other applications. In addition, Xbox users will benefit from the new “Hide System Apps” option, which helps minimize clutter by concealing less frequently used shortcuts. To further refine the home screen experience, the “Reduce Tile Count” feature will allow players to customize the number of visible tiles in the recently opened games and apps section. With these enhancements, Xbox players can enjoy a tidy homepage that allows their vibrant dynamic backgrounds to truly stand out.
“We’ve listened closely to our community and understand that the Home experience should reflect your personal gaming space,” stated Eden Marie, the principal software engineering lead for Xbox Experiences, on the company’s blog. “This update directly addresses your desires, whether that means showcasing your favorite games, hiding unused applications, or simply creating a less congested environment on the Home screen.”
According to Microsoft, these new features will first be available to users on the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha consoles. However, it’s important to note that the Reduce Tile Count feature is still undergoing development, with plans for a future release. Now, if only there was a method to eliminate those persistent ads on the home screen!
