When OpenAI designates a model as “pro,” it indicates that this version has been meticulously optimized to devote additional time to formulate responses, thereby enhancing the quality and accuracy of its answers. In the release notes for the o3-pro, the company recommends utilizing this model for complex inquiries where precision is paramount, noting that taking a few minutes for a response is a worthwhile trade-off. However, it’s important to note that there are limitations regarding the other ChatGPT services accessible through the o3-pro model. For instance, features such as image generation and Canvas functionalities are not supported with this model, necessitating the use of alternative models for those specific capabilities. The o3-pro is now available for users subscribed to ChatGPT Pro and Team plans, while those in the Enterprise and Edu categories can expect to gain access to this powerful option next week, further expanding the versatility and functionality of the ChatGPT platform.
