X has introduced a new number code feature for its revamped X Chat messaging platform. This innovative option enables users to connect through messages without needing to disclose their phone numbers or personal information.
As illustrated in a screenshot shared by @XFreeze on X, this new feature enables X Chat users to generate a unique 10-digit X number. They can share this number to facilitate direct messaging (DM) with users who are not in their contact list.
This feature also allows users to make audio and video calls, enhancing their communication options.
Individuals visiting profiles who are not mutual followers will be prompted to enter the profile’s X number to gain access to send DMs. This adds an additional layer of security to X Chat messaging.
Moreover, users have the option to refresh their X number, providing them with ongoing control over who can initiate contact with them through messages.
The code access feature enhances X’s updated DM system by allowing expanded messaging capabilities to users who do not follow each other. With X Chat, users can send DMs to accounts that follow them. users can modify their message settings to permit messages from anyone if they prefer.
Introducing a security code option creates another gate for access, enabling users to receive messages from a broader range of individuals. This could be beneficial for inviting event participants to reach out during a limited time frame following an event.
This feature may also foster a sense of exclusivity for particular events or promotions. For instance, celebrities could temporarily open their DMs to select fans by sharing their code, which they could deactivate after a designated time.
This represents another opportunity for users to leverage X Chat, facilitating various connection options.
