During a recent performance at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Crockett and Jones honored Usher and Chris Brown for their impactful contributions to music and culture. Crockett, radiating enthusiasm, presented them with plaques on stage while dressed in a stunning, shimmery black ensemble. Venton Jones, elegantly attired in a suit, joined her for this special moment. Crockett described the occasion as the highest expression of Black joy. At the conclusion of the ceremony, she embraced Breezy in a heartfelt gesture.
Chris Brown Shares Emotional Message & Image of Congressional Acknowledgment
This marks the first instance of Chris Brown publicly discussing the congressional honor online. He posted a photo of the framed declaration, which bears the signature of Texas State Representative Venton Jones. In his caption, Brown began by expressing gratitude to Jasmine Crockett and the Dallas mayor. He chose not to directly address the backlash surrounding the recognition. Instead, he thanked Texas fans for their overwhelming support during his and Usher’s ‘R&B Tour.’
“🙏🏽 I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to @jasmineforus and @ventonjonestx for this honor! @roccstarmusic, love you my brother. This means so much to me❤️. Thank you, Texas, for showering me and @usher with so much love 💕 ❤️,” Breezy wrote on Instagram.
Usher has yet to comment on the congressional recognition or the backlash that has surrounded Chris and Jasmine.
What Prompted Chris Brown to Thank Jason Lee?
Chris Brown concluded his message of gratitude by acknowledging Jason Lee for his supportive comments during a discussion with Don Lemon. “Thank you … thank you for your support when speaking,” the superstar wrote. Following the recognition, Jason Lee engaged in a dialogue with Don Lemon regarding the backlash. Despite his close ties to Brown’s 2009 assault victim, Rihanna, Lee defended the congressional honor. He noted that Rihanna had forgiven Brown long ago and that their conversations never revolve around her former boyfriend from years past.
“What we’re facing is a society that struggles to believe a Black man is deserving of redemption. This is the same redemption granted to a president who faces criminal charges daily. Yet, we are denied the same opportunities. While people have moved on, at least within the circles connected to the Chris Brown and Rihanna saga, the broader world remains stuck in the past.”
