Meta has officially unveiled paid subscription options for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, providing users with the chance to access enhanced features on these popular platforms for a nominal monthly fee. This announcement was made via an Instagram post by Naomi Gleit, the company’s head of product, who detailed the new subscription plans branded as “Plus.”
Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus are priced at $3.99 per month, while WhatsApp Plus is available for $2.99, as reported by TechCrunch. These subscription plans are currently being rolled out worldwide.
With Instagram Plus, subscribers gain enhanced control over their Stories and profiles. For $3.99 a month, users can see the total number of replays for a Story, create unlimited audience lists, extend the lifespan of Stories beyond the usual 24-hour limit, and preview a Story without being counted as a viewer. Additional perks include a weekly spotlight feature, animated Super Heart reactions, personalized app icons, customizable bio fonts, and more profile pins.

Facebook Plus offers similar benefits, emphasizing social expression and profile personalization. In contrast, WhatsApp Plus introduces a unique set of features, including customizable app themes, personalized ringtones, exclusive stickers, and additional pinned chats.
As highlighted by TechCrunch, these subscription plans do not replace the existing Meta Verified service, which remains a distinct offering aimed at account verification and safeguarding against impersonation.
Looking ahead, Plus plans represent just the beginning. Meta is also experimenting with a broader subscription model known as Meta One, which will eventually incorporate AI-driven tiers and professional plans tailored for creators and businesses. This initiative may align with Muse Spark, the company’s latest flagship AI model, though it is still in the early testing stages in select regions.
