In recent years, the popularity of anime movies and their premiere episodes has soared, making a significant impact at the box office. In response to this thriving trend, Crunchyroll is launching its exciting new initiative called Anime Nights. This program aims to bring the enchanting world of anime to the big screen, showcasing a variety of beloved titles.

During the vibrant atmosphere of San Diego Comic-Con, the streaming giant and distributor unveiled its plan to screen a new anime feature every third Monday of the month. This initiative seeks to “honor the past, elevate the present, and celebrate the future of anime.” The carefully selected titles will include fan-favorite classics, significant anniversaries, specially curated TV episodes, and even exclusive previews of highly anticipated upcoming series that Crunchyroll is eager to promote. Participating theaters will include major US chains such as AMC, Regal, and Alamo Drafthouse as part of this exciting program.

Anime Nights is more than just a viewing experience; it’s a celebration of the art form, an invitation for fans to immerse themselves in the creative world, and a chance to see anime come alive in a captivating theatrical atmosphere,” stated Crunchyroll’s EVP of Commerce, Mitchel Berger. “We’re dedicated to enhancing the theatrical experience, as there’s something incredibly powerful about watching cherished anime surrounded by friends and fellow enthusiasts in a theater setting. This initiative offers a unique opportunity for the community to gather each month and honor the stories they cherish.”

The inaugural film in the Anime Nights series is Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved, set to premiere on October 20. Following that, fans can look forward to a special screening of the first seven episodes of Overlord on November 17, celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the series. On December 15, Crunchyroll will also offer an exclusive sneak peek at some upcoming anime titles, although further details are yet to be disclosed.

While tickets for these special screenings are not yet available, fans should keep an eye out as they will likely go on sale closer to the release dates, depending on availability in their respective locations.
