Male Accuser of Stefon Diggs Raises Concerns About Jury Bias Seeks Transfer of Case Due to Potential Influence of NFL Fans

Christopher Griffith, the male accuser of Stefon Diggs, is seeking to relocate their legal proceedings to a court that is not situated near the NFL star’s home turf. This request stems from concerns that jurors may be inclined to favor Diggs, viewing him as a community hero and protecting their favorite player for the sake of the team’s success, as reported by TMZ.
In his court documents, Christopher has formally requested that the lawsuit alleging sexual battery against Stefon be transferred to a courthouse that is significantly removed from the Washington Commanders stadium located in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
Stefon joined the Commanders in August and made an impact by scoring a touchdown during their opening game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Christopher asserts that jurors will likely be selected from a local community filled with Commanders season-ticket holders, stadium personnel, and passionate fans who may feel invested in Stefon’s continued status as a prominent player on the team.
In his motion, Christopher highlighted that Stefon’s association with the Commanders is pivotal since jurors will need to determine the validity of Christopher’s allegations that Stefon drugged and sexually assaulted him.
Christopher expresses concerns regarding the natural inclination of jurors to favor a local celebrity, particularly when the allegations could jeopardize the team’s season, which fans have emotionally and financially invested in.
The judge has not yet issued a ruling on the matter.
As first reported by TMZ, Stefon has initiated a defamation lawsuit against Christopher, alleging that he fabricated claims regarding an incident of sexual assault that allegedly took place at his Maryland residence in 2023.
In response, Christopher has filed a countersuit, accusing Stefon of drugging him and engaging in inappropriate behavior in his presence, as well as allegedly hiring individuals to intimidate him into silence regarding the alleged incidents.
