Kelly Clarkson Captured in Newly Released Security Footage at Art of Play

Kelly Clarkson is currently involved in a legal dispute with a Brooklyn curiosity shop over a $15,000 mechanical bird named Molly. New evidence has emerged in the form of security footage from her visit to the store.
The video, sourced by Pablo Torre, shows the moment Kelly visited the store to inquire about the mechanical bird that has become the focal point of an ongoing online controversy.
Approximately five minutes after her arrival, Kelly is seen animatedly gesturing and speaking with the staff member at the entrance before leaving the store.
Previously reported, Kelly publicly addressed the dispute over the weekend, stating she intended to purchase several items at Art of Play but felt that an employee assumed she could not afford the products she was interested in.
The singer likened her experience to the iconic scene where Julia Roberts faces discrimination in “Pretty Woman,” warning the shop that it had potentially lost a significant sale.
Art of Play initially stated that Molly was a unique singing and dancing automaton affixed to the wall and not for sale. Kelly countered this assertion, accusing the store of dishonesty and claiming that an employee had pointed out the $15,000 price tag before suggesting a different item.
Later, the store clarified that the $15,000 price tag was for a similar bird owned by Seattle artist Bliss Kolb. They also stated that staff had offered to show Kelly another singing bird priced around $2,000, but she left the store before viewing it.
The newly released security footage adds complexity to the ongoing dispute. While it provides a visual account of Kelly’s visit, it cannot resolve the nuances of tone or the specifics of their conversation.
The online reactions have been extensive, with supporters from both sides sharing their thoughts. The small business now faces intense public scrutiny, raising questions about whether a celebrity’s social media comments are justified when a local business challenges their version of events.
As for whether the newly released footage supports Kelly’s account, the store’s narrative, or neither… that is now up to the internet community to determine.
