Julia and Mark exchanged vows in a New York City courthouse in 2019, following their engagement during a trip to Montana earlier that same year. Julia previously shared with Vogue that Mark had written her a heartfelt poem to propose.
The couple initially met at the Sundance Film Festival in 2013. they didn’t reconnect until years later when Mark, the lead singer of Foster the People, started engaging with Julia’s social media posts by liking them.
Julia recounted her initial thoughts to The Hollywood Reporter, saying, “I thought, ‘Who is this guy liking all my photos? Is he a stalker?’ I clicked on his profile and realized, ‘Oh, it’s Mark. He’s cute. I should follow him back.’ Then he sent me a direct message.”
