The iPad Pro equipped with the M5 chip is anticipated to enhance user experience significantly by making it incredibly user-friendly for capturing selfies in both landscape and portrait orientations. According to insider reports from Bloomberg‘s renowned tech analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to introduce a second front-facing camera located on the portrait edge of the forthcoming iPad Pro, which is set to debut later this year. This addition may seem like a minor enhancement, but it fundamentally transforms how users can center their subjects during selfies or FaceTime video calls, significantly improving the overall experience.
In comparison to earlier iPad models, the new iPad Pro featuring Apple’s latest silicon eliminates the uncertainty of locating the front-facing camera. Previous iterations only included a single front-facing camera positioned along the portrait edge, but Apple has strategically relocated it to the landscape side starting with the 2024 iPad Pro M4. This change has been particularly well-received by iPad Pro users who primarily operate their devices in landscape mode, yet those who prefer holding the device vertically found it more challenging to utilize Face ID effectively.
In addition to the innovative front-facing camera feature, the new iPad Pro is expected to deliver modest performance enhancements and enhanced power efficiency, all thanks to the superior capabilities of the M5 chip. Beyond the iPad Pro, Apple is also reportedly planning to upgrade several of its key products, including the Vision Pro, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac, with its latest generation of advanced chips.
