Instagram is introducing an innovative in-app teleprompter feature within its new Edits app, designed specifically to assist content creators in delivering their presentations to the camera in a manner that feels more natural and engaging for their audience.
As illustrated by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi, the upcoming Edits app will feature an in-stream rolling text display option, enabling users to showcase their scripts directly on-screen while filming.
Users will have the ability to customize the speed at which the text is displayed, along with the font size, allowing for a tailored viewing experience that meets their specific needs.
This enhancement is expected to significantly improve the natural flow and fluidity of your video presentations. It’s often jarring to see presenters divert their gaze to cue cards that are positioned just outside the camera’s view. This scenario can even be noted in professional settings like “Saturday Night Live,” where actors visibly read scripts from an angle that can distract the audience.
Displaying the text directly below the phone camera is a valuable upgrade, offering creators a ready-to-use teleprompter without the hassle of managing physical notes or cards. This functionality can streamline the presentation process and enhance overall video quality.
Moreover, incorporating a human element in your videos has been shown to boost audience engagement, making this teleprompter feature an essential tool for enhancing the effectiveness of your content.
Instagram highlighted the upcoming teleprompter functionality during an interview with Wired last week, revealing that this is just one of several exciting new features currently in development by the team.
Additionally, Instagram has indicated that many of these enhancements will debut in the Edits app first, rather than the main application, aiming to elevate its value as a robust video creation platform.
The Edits app will also incorporate advanced AI features, such as background generation and the ability to translate your original video content into various settings or character types, providing even more creative options for users.
This integration of AI technology will significantly expand your video creation possibilities. Although some of the AI-generated elements may currently seem artificial, improvements in this area are continually being made, enhancing the overall user experience.
