On Wednesday, August 6, Teyana took to her Instagram Story to communicate this news to her over 18 million followers. In her heartfelt message, she elaborated on the struggles she has been facing, stating that she has been “quietly managing some vocal challenges for quite some time.”
“After much back and forth with my doctors, I’ve been advised that I need vocal surgery immediately,” she shared. “They’ve discovered a noncancerous growth on one of my vocal cords that has been affecting my voice and causing significant discomfort…”
Teyana expressed her gratitude for the medical team’s diligence in identifying the growth, emphasizing the necessity of taking time to “pause” and “completely heal.” She also mentioned that she will be stepping back from some of her upcoming scheduled appearances. Nevertheless, she confirmed that her album, ‘Escape Room’, is still set to be released on August 22.
Ultimately, she remarked, “this moment hurts,” but she remains hopeful for a comeback as the “best version” of herself, demonstrating her resilience and determination.
