House of the Dragon Season 4 Release Date Revealed

Fortunately, House of the Dragon Season 4 is officially in the pipeline. HBO revealed the renewal for Season 4 in November 2025, alongside an announcement for Season 2 of the upcoming A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

HBO’s announcement included plans to roll out these seasons through 2028. The highly anticipated Season 2 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is set to debut first, in 2027, followed by House of the Dragon Season 4, which is scheduled for 2028.

While the specific release date for House of the Dragon Season 4 remains under wraps and filming has yet to commence, we can look to past seasons for hints. Every previous season has premiered in the summer—Season 1 in August and Seasons 2 and 3 in June. He has consistently reiterated this plan throughout the promotional activities for Season 3, stating to Entertainment Weekly, “I can’t speak for everyone else involved with the show and HBO, but yes, [four seasons] is very much my plan.”

This means we are just one more break away from discovering the fates of Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and her chaotic family. Given the intense conclusion of Season 3, we can expect House of the Dragon to present its darkest and most brutal narrative yet.
