So: Is King Aegon useless, or is not actually he?
Episode four of Residence of the Dragon may possibly have remaining that difficulty up to interpretation, but the trailer for episode five delivers us a quantity of added clues. Extremely 1st, we see soldiers carrying what appears like a medieval stretcher back once again into the Red Continue to maintain. As they open this wooden crate we listen to Alicent request, “Is he alive?” The implication there, of class, is that the king is just not lifeless — or at least, not rather.
Afterwards in the trailer, even even though, his destiny seems a grimmer. There is a shot of Employees Eco-friendly sitting down all about the compact council desk, and Aegon’s chair is vacant. Overhead, a voice says, “The King does not deficiency for heirs.”
The conclusion? King Aegon is just not actually useless when he’s brought back once again to King’s Landing, but he each dies partway by implies of episode five, or his situation is so lousy he’s unable to rule.
