Hirata Runa, a talented child pop star and trainee of the renowned Japanese idol group DIANNA Project, has tragically passed away at the tender age of 8.
Hirata Runa “passed away peacefully” on September 25, as reported on her X account.
The DIANNA Project released an official statement, revealing that the young star died “due to myocarditis resulting from influenza.”
The group has requested privacy for Runa’s family during this difficult time and expressed their gratitude to all her fans who supported her throughout her journey.
After her final performance on September 20, Runa shared a heartfelt message: “Thank you for today too, I appreciate it. It was so much fun.”
Just eight days later, her team posted a tribute on her X account, expressing gratitude to everyone who supported and cared for Runa during her brief but impactful life.
Myocarditis, the condition that claimed her life, is defined as inflammation of the myocardium, the middle muscular layer of the heart wall, according to the American Heart Association.
She was only 8 years old.
