As previously detailed by The Shade Room, Halle Bailey secured a temporary restraining order along with full custody of her son Halo prior to their court hearing with DDG, which was slated for June 4. Nevertheless, the hearing faced delays after DDG filed a competing custody petition. In his submission, he emphasized Halle’s alleged history of threatening self-harm, which he claims jeopardizes their child’s safety.
In her response, Halle has vigorously contested these accusations. She stated that her ex-boyfriend’s assertions “have exaggerated, lied, and misrepresented not only the history of our relationship but also our parenting and my mental health,” as Halle reportedly conveyed in her legal declaration.
The talented actress further underscored her unwavering commitment and capability to care for Halo, asserting her role as a responsible mother.
“I have been very vocal about my anxiety, depression, and previous thoughts of suicide. Without waiving the psychotherapist-patient privilege and physician-patient privilege, I have reached out to my doctor and received treatment to address these issues. I have been and remain 100% available and capable as a parent to our son, Halo,” Bailey wrote in her declaration as reported by Billboard.

In addition, Halle highlights that most of the mental health incidents cited by DDG occurred during 2022 and 2023, a period during which his behavior left her “emotionally devastated.” The singer pointed out that he never raised concerns about her parenting skills until the day the court scheduled a hearing regarding her allegations of abuse.
“Had Darryl truly been concerned about my parenting, he would have taken action prior to this time. This is cold retribution intended to embarrass, humiliate, and cause me further emotional distress,” Bailey expressed.
DDG’s Emergency Motion to Prevent Halle’s International Travel with Halo is Denied
Halle’s latest rebuttal to DDG arises after he filed an emergency motion aimed at stopping her from taking Halo abroad. According to TMZ, he submitted this motion on Wednesday, June 4, just days before Halle’s planned trip to Italy commencing on Saturday, June 7.
In his legal filing, he asserts that she poses an “imminent emotional and psychological risk” to their son. DDG accuses Halle of allegedly departing his residence with his registered firearm while she was pregnant. Furthermore, he claims that she purportedly intended to undergo an abortion without informing him but later decided against it.
A judge ultimately dismissed DDG’s request to restrict travel but partially approved his temporary restraining order concerning allegations of physical and verbal abuse.

Despite DDG’s claims outlined in his legal documents, Halle has candidly shared her struggles with postpartum depression on Snapchat. Numerous social media users have come to her defense, emphasizing that texts she allegedly sent to DDG in 2024 reflect clear signs of emotional turmoil. They argue that these messages should not be utilized in court to paint her in a negative light.
In April 2024, the star of ‘The Little Mermaid’ opened up about her transition into motherhood, expressing to her Snapchat followers that she found it challenging to be apart from Halo for more than 30 minutes.
“I don’t know if any new moms can relate, but it’s to the point where it’s really bad, and it’s hard for me to be separated from my baby for more than 30 minutes at a time before I start to kind of freak out,” she shared in her Snapchat video.
Halle went on to reveal that during that time, she felt as if she had transformed into a completely different person, struggling with her identity. “I feel like a completely different person. When I look in the mirror, I just feel like I’m in a whole new body. Like, I don’t know who I am.”
