Why not create a fun song in a voice note instead?
Suno has introduced a new feature that integrates music creation directly into iMessage, which some may find detracts from the joy of making music. With the latest version of the Suno app for iPhone, users can generate a 30-second audio clip straight from their messages using either a text or voice prompt. This feature can be accessed by tapping the plus icon within a chat and selecting the Suno option.
Users can input a message from a friend as a prompt and choose a specific genre for the generated audio. it’s important to note that the recipient must also have the Suno app installed to listen to the created audio.
The requirement for the recipient to have the app is a relief, as it significantly reduces the chances of encountering one of these AI-generated songs. I would feel less favorable towards anyone who sent me one, similar to how I react to people who share AI-generated images despite my requests to refrain from doing so.
While you could use this tool to send music produced by an AI trained on millions of tracks—many of which may include copyrighted works—consider creating a personalized song about a dinner reservation or any other topic, and share it as a voice note with your friends. This approach will undoubtedly carry much more emotional weight than anything generated by Suno’s systems.
