Friend of Nolan Wells Returns to Beach of Tragic Discovery

A friend of Nolan Wells is returning to the Mississippi beach on Horn Island, the site of Nolan’s last known moments alive and where his body later washed ashore. A video captures the poignant scene.

YouTuber Brandon Tatum visited Horn Island alongside Nolan’s close friend, Warren Hudson. They anchored their boat and stepped ashore at the precise location where Nolan spent time on the Fourth of July.

The footage reveals the island’s surroundings, showing several boats anchored on a Monday afternoon. Tatum and Hudson address misconceptions that suggest this was a “secluded” island where Nolan partied in isolation.

Tatum vividly describes the atmosphere during Nolan’s final hours with friends. Rows of boats and a vibrant crowd celebrated America’s 250th birthday along the shoreline.

Tatum revealed that the boat Nolan arrived on had mechanical issues and was being towed away from the island. His friends encouraged him to join them as they departed, but he made the choice to remain on Horn Island.

Tatum mentioned that Nolan’s friends departed the island around 4:30 PM, with reports indicating he was seen approximately two hours later.

Participants in the search and recovery operation reported that Nolan’s body washed ashore very close to where he was last seen alive.

Nolan’s family suspects he may have sustained an injury to the back of his head, based on preliminary results from an independent autopsy they commissioned.
