Being a parent in Central New York means many things: You know the glory that is the Wegmans Playground at Onondaga Lake Park. You savor the runaround room inside the Canyon at Destiny when there’s two feet of snow on the ground. And you can plan your week around $2.99 Wednesday kid’s meals at Tully’s and bottomless mac and cheese at Red Robin.
It also means you’re very likely a member of one of the most famous – and sometimes infamous – Facebook groups there is: East Side Moms. I’ve been a member for a long time and, admittedly, I’ve been paying closer attention to posts there since starting this column. I’ve unabashedly used the group to ask questions, buy and sell things and glean wisdom from a vast network of parents in Central New York. The constant churn of posts has always made for fun, fascinating and voyeuristic reading, but since Facebook introduced anonymous posting recently, the group is sometimes an irresistible trainwreck of a read.
