According to Bossip, Dr. Sims worked as a general dentist in her hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, and graduated from Meharry Medical School. Furthermore, in 2020, he and K. apparently laid their plans to begin having children. That year, the singer told Essence that she would be undergoing IVF to conceive twin girls.
