Nick Viall Questions Justin Baldoni’s Priorities Amidst Blake Lively’s Online Hate
More and more celebrities are stepping up to show their support for Blake Lively following her explosive lawsuit, which was filed on Friday and reported by TMZ on Saturday. The legal action is directed against her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni, highlighting significant allegations that have caught the attention of fans and media alike.
On the same day, the New York Times published an article unveiling supposed private messages that document an alleged smear campaign against Lively, which are referenced in her lawsuit. Baldoni and his team have categorically denied these allegations, labeling the lawsuit as an effort to “repair her damaging reputation.”
“We have previously expressed our unwavering support for Blake regarding her work on and for the film. We wholeheartedly reaffirm that support today,” stated Sony Pictures Entertainment, the distributor of It Ends With Us, in an official statement. “Additionally, we strongly condemn any reputational attacks against her. Such attacks have no place in our industry or in a civilized society.”

Former Bachelor star and podcast host Nick Viall was among the first to defend Lively, notably calling out Baldoni back in August for hiring renowned crisis manager Melissa Nathan — the same agency that managed Johnny Depp during his contentious defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard. This came as public sentiment began to shift against Lively amid the film’s release and emerging rumors about set tensions.
Viall is not alone in voicing support after Lively shared her detailed account of the distressing experiences she faced while making and promoting the Colleen Hoover adaptation, revealing shocking allegations of sexual harassment and a coordinated smear campaign targeting her reputation.
Amy Schumer simply stated, “I believe Blake” on her Instagram Story, while Gwyneth Paltrow appeared to show her support by promoting Lively’s Blake Brown haircare line on the same day the lawsuit was announced, captioning, “Just added to my Christmas wish list,” alongside a queen emoji.

Hacks and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia star Kaitlin Olson — whose husband, Rob McElhenney, is a co-investor in Wrexham AFC alongside Blake’s husband Ryan Reynolds — publicly expressed her support for Lively on Instagram.
Like many others, Olson shared a link to the New York Times article regarding Lively’s lawsuit, adding, “@BlakeLively is a kind, beautiful, honest, and generous person (and an incredible mother). FYI.”
Jenny Slate Stands Firmly with Lively Amid Allegations
Jenny Slate, who portrayed Baldoni’s character’s sister in It Ends With Us, has expressed her unwavering support for Lively.
“As Blake Lively’s castmate and friend, I want to voice my support as she takes action against those reported to have orchestrated a campaign against her reputation,” Slate stated in a message to TODAY. “Blake is a leader, a loyal friend, and a trusted source of emotional support for me and so many who know and love her.”
“What has been revealed concerning the attack on Blake is extremely dark, disturbing, and wholly threatening,” she concluded. “I applaud my friend, I admire her bravery, and I stand by her side.”
Brandon Sklenar Affirms His Support for Blake Lively
Co-star Brandon Sklenar also expressed his support for Lively by sharing a link to the New York Times article detailing her lawsuit.
He added, “For the love of God, read this,” tagging Lively and including a heart emoji.
Back in August, as Lively faced intense negativity regarding her promotional efforts for the film, Sklenar also came forward with a statement defending her.
“Vilifying the women who invest their hearts and souls into creating this movie because they are passionate about its message seems counterproductive and diminishes the film’s purpose,” he stated at the time.
Michele Morrone Expresses Concern for Lively’s Well-Being
Michele Morrone shared insights about working with Lively on A Simple Favor 2 after her involvement in It Ends With Us.
“I believe it’s time to stand up for someone I truly care about, and that person is Blake Lively,” he stated in a video shared on his Instagram Story to his 16 million followers.
“I personally met Blake during A Simple Favor 2, and while filming this incredible movie, I sensed something was off, and I felt her pain. We had an opportunity to talk, and she confided in me. Blake was in pain,” he continued. “I am genuinely tired of seeing cruel and harmful comments made about her without understanding the situation.”
“That’s why I’m linking the article from the New York Times here for you to understand before commenting on what happened,” he added. “That’s all I ask. Blake, I love you so much. Keep going, and we will see each other very, very soon. Love you.”
Director Paul Feig Supports Blake Lively
Paul Feig, the director of both A Simple Favor and its upcoming sequel, voiced his support for Lively on social media.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Blake on two films, and all I can say is that she’s one of the most professional, creative, collaborative, talented, and kind people I’ve ever collaborated with,” he shared.
He concluded, “She absolutely did not deserve any of the smear campaign directed at her. It’s awful that she was subjected to this.”
Amber Heard Speaks Out on Alleged Smear Campaign
Amber Heard also shared her thoughts following her own experiences during her divorce from Depp and the subsequent defamation lawsuit, stating, “I witnessed this firsthand, and it’s horrifying.”
“Social media is truly the embodiment of the old saying ‘A lie travels halfway around the world before the truth can get its boots on,’” she emphasized in a statement obtained by NBC News today.
“I witnessed this firsthand and up close. It is as terrifying as it is dangerous.”
Nick Viall Shares His Perspective on the Situation
In a recent TikTok video, Nick Viall expressed that he is “not here to gloat,” although he previously called out Justin Baldoni back in August. As Lively was facing backlash online, Viall also faced criticism for questioning Baldoni’s actions.
“I’m not here to gloat; I am genuinely just happy that the truth is finally coming out about this man, and more importantly, how wrong many were about Blake,” Viall stated in his new TikTok.
He further challenged those who struggle to believe the actress “because she reminds you of someone you went to school with or you’re just infatuated with his jawline,” encouraging them to actually read her complaint.
“It’s filled with screenshots, evidence, and paints a detailed picture of who Justin truly is, not who he pretends to be,” he asserted.
For the reality star and podcast host, the initial warning signs emerged back in January 2023, just before his extended interview with Baldoni on a rainy day in August. This is why he latched onto the term “fake.”
As Viall recounted, he had stepped out for a moment, and when he returned, Baldoni was present but not quite ready. He was reportedly meditating… in the room with everyone else present.
“I think meditation is incredible… but it’s something you do for yourself, not for an audience,” he argued. “It was clear he was performing for an audience. I wondered, why not do this in your car? It’s pouring rain, the vibes are great outside.”
As with most of Baldoni’s appearances for the film, he focused on a women-first approach to the book and movie’s challenging themes of domestic abuse.
“During the interview, I genuinely wanted to see if he believed in the issues he was discussing. Did he even grasp it?” Viall reflected in his explanation. “Honestly, I just felt that his responses were insincere.”
“My main takeaway is that this guy kind of sucks. I left with the impression that he’s pretending to be an ally, but he isn’t one,” he added.
In August, Viall went viral for questioning why Baldoni had hired a crisis PR team while stories began to leak about the film’s production. He wondered why Baldoni wasn’t out there defending women — or at least one woman — from online harassment.
“Why is a man who consistently talks about listening to and protecting women,
