In 2022, Jennie Nguyen faced termination from Real Housewives of Salt Lake City following the resurfacing of controversial posts on her social media accounts. These posts included memes that were inflammatory against the Black Lives Matter movement, particularly in the aftermath of George Floyd’s tragic death in May 2020. Some of her posts included phrases such as “Blue Lives Matter” and “White Lives Matter,” while others disparaged the BLM movement by referring to its supporters as “BLM Thugs” and “thug rioters.”

Additionally, Jennie’s posts raised eyebrows as she appeared to question the COVID-19 vaccine, expressed support for Donald Trump, and criticized political figures including Kamala Harris and the Obamas. Most of her content consisted of memes and shared articles without any commentary from Jennie herself, leading to significant backlash, and ultimately, her dismissal shortly thereafter.

“Bravo has ceased filming with Jennie Nguyen and she will no longer be a cast member of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” the network stated in an official announcement shortly after the controversy erupted.

“We acknowledge we did not take appropriate action when her offensive social media posts were brought to our attention,” the statement continued. “Moving forward, we will work to improve our processes to ensure we make better informed and more thoughtful casting decisions.”

Alexis Bellino was a prominent cast member on The Real Housewives of Orange County from seasons 4 to 8, and she made a comeback after a decade-long hiatus in season 17. Unfortunately, after the season concluded, she was not invited back, resulting in her dismissal from the show.

“I can’t say it came as a shock; it didn’t come as a shock,” Alexis revealed during her appearance on the Reality with the King podcast. “It was a tough conversation. I guess I wasn’t really prepared [because] I didn’t think contracts were popping out — like, I thought we had more time. [So] It was a surprise when the call came, but I was never shocked by that information.”

“It was a little bit of a relief,” she added. “I mean nobody wants rejection, and no one wants to [hear] hear that you’re not coming back. But it already happened to me. It happened to me in season 8.”

In 2017, Phaedra Parks was dismissed from her role on Real Housewives of Atlanta following a scandalous season 9 reunion. During the reunion, it was revealed that Phaedra was responsible for spreading a damaging rumor that Kandi Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker had intentions of drugging and assaulting Porsha Williams. Following these revelations, Andy Cohen stated that none of the women wanted to continue working with Phaedra, leading to her exit from the show.

“The question we now consider with Phaedra is, after the reunion ended, none of the other women wanted to have anything to do with her. So that’s what you have to look at,” he told E! News. “How do you shoot a show about a group of friends when none of them are speaking to one of the friends?”

After appearing on Bravo’s Married to Medicine, she later returned for RHOA’s sixteenth season.

Dorinda Medley had been a beloved cast member of Real Housewives of New York since season 7, but in 2020, she received notice of her dismissal from the show. After a particularly challenging season filled with emotional outbursts while under the influence, Dorinda anticipated the opportunity to redeem herself in the subsequent season. Unfortunately, Bravo ultimately decided to part ways with her. While Andy referred to her exit as a “pause,” Dorinda did not see it that way.

“Listen, I had a tough season. But that’s what we do as Housewives. We have good seasons. We have bad seasons. We come back and we change it up,” Dorinda stated on Bethenny Frankel’s Just B podcast. “I was looking forward to coming back this year. I was looking forward to having that moment.”

“So it really was, you know, nobody likes rejection,” she added. “I was ready to return. I was excited about going back. I was planning on going back. And I thought I would have a great year. I wasn’t offered that option.”

Brandi Glanville parted ways with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills following a tumultuous fifth season filled with confrontations with co-stars like Kyle Richards, Lisa Vanderpump, Eileen Davidson, and Lisa Rinna. While she initially claimed that her exit was on her own terms, she later revealed that she was, in fact, fired from the show.

“I’m not on Real Housewives anymore… I got fired,” she admitted on her Brandi Glanville Unfiltered podcast. “Then they hired me back for other stuff.”

Brandi later appeared on the spin-off series The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip for two seasons, one of which may never air due to an alleged incident involving Brandi and Caroline Manzo.

Alex McCord was a key cast member during the first four seasons of RHONY but was let go in 2011. Although she claimed her departure was amicable, it was clear that it was not her choice to leave the show.

“After four seasons on Real Housewives of New York City, Simon and I are moving on. It’s a very pleasant departure and while it was their decision and not ours, we’re in close communication with both Bravo and the production company about our next move, along with fielding outside offers,” Alex stated at the time.

She continued, “Four years is a long time in TV land and we had no idea when we auditioned in 2006 that we would still have been on air in 2011. It’s been a bumpy ride; sometimes great and sometimes not, but it’s been an experience that I don’t regret having gone through.”

Teddi Mellencamp was a cast member on RHOBH from seasons 8 to 10, but she was not invited back for any further seasons. Rumors circulated that her dismissal was due to her inability to provide “enough drama or content” to merit her continuation on the show.

“I recently found out that my contract as a Housewife is not being renewed. Of course, I could give the standard response of, ‘Oh we both came to the decision that it would be best.’ Nah, I’m not going to do that — that’s not who I am,” she shared in an Instagram video.

She continued, “Of course when I got the news, I was sad. It feels like a breakup, almost because you develop such strong relationships with the cast, with the crew, and you get to do incredible things that you probably would never experience without the show.”

Despite years of denying that she would be fired from RHOC, Kelly Dodd was ultimately let go from the show ahead of season 16 in 2021. Kelly expressed that she felt “blindsided” by the network’s decision. The news came shortly after Kelly had shared a private message with Elizabeth Vargas and Braunwyn Windham-Burke, where she criticized Braunwyn for introducing “all that political ‘woke’ BS” to the series.

Kelly admitted that her conservative political views might have influenced the network’s decision not to invite her back, although the network stated they simply wanted to take a “different direction.”

“Ultimately, I got fired because of myself,” she explained on Jeff’s Sirius XM radio show. “I’m the one who got myself fired. I was like Howard Stern with WNBC … I was causing [executives] a lot of grief. I was causing them a lot of trouble. And, you know, I’m sorry about that. I feel bad.”

In 2011, Cindy Barshop faced termination from RHONY alongside Alex McCord. Cindy was on the show for just one season and expressed that the network’s decision was not mutual, even though Bravo portrayed it as a friendly parting.

“Following the reunion, it was clear that the women genuinely did not like one another anymore,” Cindy shared with ABC News at the time.

Robyn Dixon was a cast member on The Real Housewives of Potomac for eight seasons but ultimately faced dismissal from the show. Despite being one of the franchise’s original cast members, the network made the decision to move forward without her. Reflecting on her experience, she described it as a “fun, amazing, tense, crazy, wild journey.”

“Yes, I will not be returning for season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac,” she stated on her Reasonably Shady podcast. “It’s reality. The network didn’t invite me back. I was fired, for lack of a better term. I will not sugarcoat the situation and say, ‘Oh, I’m walking away and this is a break’ or anything like that. It is a network decision.”

Jill Zarin participated in seasons one through four of RHONY but was not invited back for season five. Years later, Jill revealed that an email she sent may have contributed to her not returning to the show.

“One night… I think I took a sleeping pill, and I typed out an email to my producer and three out of the five Housewives. And I said, ‘I’m leaving the show. I want to leave on a high.
