San Francisco Bay Tragic Boat Sinking Incident Near Alcatraz Island One Fatality, Two People Missing

A shocking boat disaster occurred in San Francisco Bay on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in one fatality and two individuals missing. This tragic event triggered a significant rescue operation near the iconic Alcatraz Island.
According to reports, a pontoon-style pleasure boat erupted in flames shortly after 3:30 PM while navigating the waters between Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge. The fire caused the vessel to sink, throwing all passengers into the frigid bay waters.
The San Francisco Fire Department confirmed that there were 19 individuals aboard the ill-fated vessel. Of these, 16 were rescued, one person has sadly died, and two others remain unaccounted for.
Stunning aerial footage from KTVU FOX 2 captured the moment the boat sank, as rescue teams rushed to the scene. Firefighters, the U.S. Coast Guard, and additional emergency services conducted extensive searches in the area.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the fire, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing. Rescue operations continued into the evening as teams searched for the two missing individuals.
