BYD is primarily recognized for its affordable all-electric vehicles, yet it also ventures into the realm of high-performance cars through its subsidiary brand. At the recent Beijing Auto Show, BYD made headlines by introducing the Denza Z, a remarkable hypercar that boasts over 1,000 horsepower powered by an all-electric motor. According to CarNewsChina, this stunning vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under two seconds, positioning it as a serious competitor against esteemed models like the Rimac Nevera.
Initially, BYD showcased the Denza Z as a concept during the Shanghai Auto Show in 2025. The following year, the company confirmed that this hypercar would feature seating for four passengers and be available in hard-top, convertible, and “track” versions. While full specifications for the Denza Z are yet to be disclosed, the automaker has indicated that the track edition will incorporate the advanced DiSus-M intelligent suspension system, akin to the Magnetic Ride Control found in the Chevrolet Corvette. Additionally, it will utilize BYD’s Flash Charging system. As reported by AutoExpress, the Denza Z will also include features reminiscent of the BYD YangWang U9, such as autonomous driving capabilities and a unique “tank turning” maneuver.
In an unexpected move, BYD plans to launch the Denza Z in Europe first, with an official debut scheduled for the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK this July. Although the automaker has yet to announce pricing details, it is anticipated that the Denza Z will be more accessible compared to BYD’s other hypercar under the YangWang brand, which is limited to just 30 units.
