In an effort to enhance online safety, anyone wishing to view adult content in the UK is now required to verify their age by either taking a selfie or providing a photo ID. While this move aims to protect younger audiences, it may indeed disrupt the viewing experience for many. The UK government has recently initiated enforcement of the Online Safety Act, which mandates that all websites displaying pornographic material implement robust systems for conducting “highly effective age checks” to ensure compliance.
Leading adult entertainment platforms, including the UK’s most frequented site, PornHub, have consented to adhere to these new regulations. These guidelines are also applicable to social media platforms, such as X and various dating applications, where explicit imagery may be shared. Notably, social networks like Reddit and Bluesky have already put age verification mechanisms in place. Interestingly, some users have found ways to bypass these age checks by changing their profile locations or utilizing a VPN service.
As a result of these new regulations, there has been a significant surge in the downloads of VPN applications, as users seek privacy and unrestricted access to content.

As part of our comprehensive review series on Samsung products, I had the opportunity to test the latest Galaxy Z Flip 7. This model boasts a sleek design complemented by significantly enhanced battery life. The device features a larger and much brighter front display, making it more user-friendly, and the hinge mechanism has been reinforced, providing a sturdier feel during use. Despite being the compact member of Samsung’s foldable lineup, the primary display has been enlarged, aligning more closely with the standard aspect ratios typical of most smartphones. This thoughtful enhancement makes the Flip 7 not only visually appealing but also more functional compared to its predecessors.
Moreover, the larger capacity battery has notably increased the operational time of the Galaxy Z Flip 7, allowing users to enjoy longer usage without frequent recharges. However, it is worth mentioning that the camera setup remains largely consistent with the previous iteration, featuring a 50MP primary lens alongside a 12MP ultrawide lens. Unfortunately, the absence of a dedicated telephoto lens limits its versatility in certain photography scenarios. Additionally, I would have appreciated further enhancements to the Flex Window software to unlock its full potential.
