The Gemini Spark AI assistant is available exclusively to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the United States.

Google has begun the rollout of its innovative agentic AI assistant, Gemini Spark, within the Gemini app on macOS. During its I/O developer conference in May, Google revealed that Spark transforms Gemini into an “active partner,” capable of performing tasks on your behalf.

On Mac computers, for example, you can instruct it to organize the extensive collection of PDFs in your Downloads folder into designated folders. You can also utilize it to manage tasks on your Workspace applications, such as creating a spreadsheet using invoices stored on your device. Future updates will enable Spark to execute commands on your computer that you initiate from your phone. If you’re away from your Mac and need a particular file, you can ask Spark to locate it and send it to you via email.

Using these features requires a degree of trust in Gemini regarding your personal information. If you have concerns about privacy and security, Google assures users that the assistant can only access files you explicitly permit it to use. For those willing to grant Spark broader access, you can now integrate it with Google Tasks and Keep. Upcoming weeks will also see compatibility with third-party applications, including Canva, Dropbox, Instacart, OpenTable, and Zillow Rental.

Currently, Gemini Spark for macOS is in beta testing and is exclusively available to subscribers in the U.S. aged 18 and older who are paying $100 monthly for the Google AI Ultra service.
