Erika Kirk is vocally criticizing “comedians in whiteface,” Candace Owens, and the media just days after the shocking shooting incident at the White House Correspondent Dinner last weekend. Kirk’s remarks come shortly after the online community suggested that Druski drew inspiration from her for his trending skit that lampoons conservative women. In response, Candace asserted that Charlie Kirk would have appreciated the humor, emphasizing that jokes are protected under the First Amendment.

Erika Kirk Responds to Candace Owens and Challenges Comedians in Powerful Video
On Wednesday (April 29), Erika released a compelling nine-minute video declaring that the United States has transformed into a place that feels unrecognizable, and she expressed concern that the truth is being “perverted.” During this video, she discussed her experiences at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, the alleged assassination attempt on President Trump, and her portrayal in both online platforms and traditional media.
Regarding her attendance at the dinner, Erika Kirk expressed her desire to confront the journalists who have allegedly “attempted to dehumanize” her. She articulated a wish to “meet some of them face-to-face,” stating, “Why have a conversation about me when you can have a conversation with me?” This highlights her commitment to addressing misconceptions directly.
In another segment of her video, Erika commented on comedians and the use of “white face.” Although she did not specifically name Druski, he had previously stirred controversy with a skit about “conservative women” that had audiences buzzing. The scenes in the skit appeared to echo real-life events, capturing facial expressions and even outfits associated with Mrs. Kirk. At that time, even President Trump suggested the possibility of her suing over such comedic portrayals. Following the passing of Charlie Kirk in September, Candace Owens has voiced criticisms regarding both the incident and his widow.
“I have comedians dressing up in whiteface, I have people saying I’m not fit to be CEO, and I have Candace Owens claiming I murdered my husband, and the list goes on…” Erika Kirk stated.

Candace Owens Denies Allegations and Clarifies Statements About Erika Kirk
On Thursday, just one day after Erika’s video went public, Candace Owens took to X to respond. She detailed how she previously dealt with Dave Chappelle’s mockery and reflected on Charlie Kirk’s reaction to a South Park episode that featured him.
“Were Charlie alive and the subject of the Druski skit, he would have laughed. Whether regarding Jimmy Kimmel, South Park, Chappelle, or otherwise, any person attempting to criminalize jokes is the enemy of free speech. Not one inch,” Candace Owens asserted.
When Dave Chappelle did a skit mocking me during BLM, I responded that I was flattered that he even knew my name.
When South Park did an episode mocking Charlie Kirk, he played it on repeat on his show.

Later, Owens shared a video in a subsequent tweet as evidence, in which the late Charlie Kirk expressed that conservatives should maintain “a good spirit about being made fun of” and develop a thick skin, emphasizing that any conversation about them is ultimately a win.
Charlie Kirk’s response to South Park—
He was the real deal, and like I told you guys, he really did have the best sense of humor about everything, always. https://t.co/h6QpnOnVSw— Candace Owens (@RealCandaceO) April 30, 2026
Candace Owens also shared her thoughts on Erika Kirk’s video overall, describing it as a “very uncomfortable watch” and a “painful prompter read.”
“A speech CLEARLY written by someone else. Objectively terrible so they will now pay for people to tell us otherwise. Also, of everything I’ve said about Erika, she chooses to respond to something I never said. They always lie,” she remarked in a tweet.
At this point, Erika’s only response seems to be a report regarding a text screenshot that a representative from Turning Point USA shared on X. In the screenshot, a contact labeled as Candace Owens allegedly wrote, “I’m asking EVERYTHING. First question: Why did you murder your husband?”
Funny, you said exactly that to my former employee Aubrey. Yes, Aubrey took a screen grab of your chats and bragged about it to her friends. https://t.co/bebossdK93 pic.twitter.com/3VYultSyP9

Currently, Candace’s latest tweet continues to focus on the First Amendment protections related to jokes. To emphasize her point, she shared a tweet from Charlie Kirk dating back to 2024.

What Role Did Jimmy Kimmel Play in This Controversy?
Just days before a schoolteacher opened fire at the White House, Jimmy Kimmel made headlines by joking about Melania Trump’s appearance. On television, the ABC host pretended to host the Correspondents’ Dinner and quipped that the First Lady resembled an “expectant widow.” Following the tragic shooting incident involving Cole Tomas Allen, both Trump and Melania have publicly criticized Jimmy Kimmel and ABC, demanding the host’s termination. This rivalry has been ongoing for years. In response, Jimmy clarified that his joke was not related to the shooting and was instead a jab at the president’s age, which is currently 79.
