Mrs. Trump … you radiate a glow akin to that of an expectant widow,” Jimmy jested. “In the unfortunate scenario that our president faces a medical emergency tonight, do we have a doctor in attendance — oh, I meant to ask, do we have a Jesus amongst us? I often mix the two up as well.”

Just four days later, Melania took to X to criticize Jimmy, labeling him a “coward.” Her comments came shortly after the April 25, 2026, White House Correspondents’ Dinner, which was marred by an incident where a suspected gunman, Cole Allen, opened fire, further intensifying the conversation around humor and safety in public settings.
“Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is crafted to create division within our country,” Melania tweeted. “His monologue about my family transcends comedy; his words are toxic and contribute to the political sickness that permeates America today.”
Continuing her critique, she stated that individuals like Jimmy “should not have the privilege of entering our homes every evening to disseminate hatred,” accusing the comedian of concealing himself “behind ABC, fully aware that the network will continue to shield him.”
“Enough is enough. It’s time for ABC to take a definitive stand,” Melania asserted. “How many more times will ABC’s leadership permit Kimmel’s appalling behavior to harm our community?”
Is Jimmy Kimmel Facing Cancellation by ABC?
As of now, Jimmy has not been removed from the airwaves, nor has his show been canceled. ABC has yet to make any public comment regarding Melania’s statements about Jimmy. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.’ A day later, a deranged individual attempted to breach the ballroom of the White House Correspondents Dinner, armed with a shotgun, handgun, and numerous knives, with a clear and sinister intention. I appreciate the outrage directed at Kimmel’s despicable incitement to violence, and ordinarily, I would disregard anything he claimed, but this crosses a line.”
That evening, on April 27, Kimmel addressed the Trumps’ remarks by defending his original joke. “It was merely a light roast joke regarding the fact that he is nearing 80 and she is younger than I am,” he explained.
On April 28, the FCC mandated that Disney’s ABC stations must apply for early renewal of their broadcast licenses by May 28, indicating an ongoing investigation into its DEI practices.
