Roommates, it looks like the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is using the holiday season to push its deportation goals. And, the White House is cosigning the energy!

DHS Says Holiday Stipend Has Expiration Date

Homeland Security released its memo on the deportation incentive on Dec. 22, days before Christmas. Addressing undocumented migrants as “illegal aliens,” DHS said those interested in the holiday stipend can sign up online in the CBP Home app to self-deport to their home country. Also, the stipend includes a free flight and forgiveness of civil fines or penalties for overstaying a visa. As mentioned, the offer is only valid until the end of the year.

Agency Calls The Program A “Gift”

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in the memo that 1.9 million “illegal aliens have voluntarily self-deported, and tens of thousands” have used the incentive program. Noem said, “The U.S. taxpayer is so generously TRIPLING the incentive.” The secretary warned that those who don’t take this out risk being caught with no way to return to the U.S.

“Illegal aliens should take advantage of this gift and self-deport because if they don’t, we will find them, we will arrest them, and they will never return.”

In the reminder of the memo, DHS said using the app to self-deport is “the best gift that an illegal alien can give themselves and their families,” calling the process “fast, free, and easy.” The agency says an application is all it needs to arrange and pay for undocumented migrants to go back home. It ended the release with a version of Kristi Noem’s words.

“Those illegal aliens who don’t take advantage of this special offer today have only one alternative: They will be arrested, deported, and they will never be able to return to the United States.”

White House Backs Deportation Stipend

On the same day of DHS’s holiday stipend announcement, the White House stood ten toes behind the message. On Instagram, it shared a film-style video of an ICE agent dressed as Santa Claus with a white beard, a deep red vest, and a red hat. The video featured clips of the Santa ICE agent getting suited, making and processing an arrest, and seemingly doing a head count at a plane during boarding.

“AVOID ICE AIR AND SANTA’S NAUGHTY LIST! Self-deport today with the CBP Home app, earn $3,000 and spend Christmas at home with loved ones. Holiday incentive is valid through the end of 2025.”
