In a poignant clip that has gone viral on social media, Foxx recounted that on April 11, 2023, he experienced a severe “bad headache.” He requested an Aspirin from a friend, but before he could take it, he unexpectedly “went out.” His loved ones promptly rushed him to a medical facility in Georgia, but the initial treatment was merely a cortisone shot, which proved insufficient for his alarming condition.
Recognizing the seriousness of his situation, his sister, Deidra Dixon, took decisive action and transported him to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Notably, Foxx was in the area for filming a movie at the time. There, the medical team informed Deidra that Foxx had suffered a “brain bleed that has led to a stroke,” a diagnosis that shocked the family.
“We didn’t find where it was coming from, but he is having a stroke. He may be able to make a full recovery, but it’s going to be the worst year of his life,” the doctor reportedly warned Dixon, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
