Woman Shot in Courthouse Parking Lot

Kenneth Jerome Logan Jr., a resident of Florida, was apprehended for allegedly firing a weapon at a woman in the parking garage of the courthouse in Orlando. This incident reportedly took place at the Orange County Courthouse parking facility on Wednesday, September 23.

Florida Man Allegedly Shoots at Woman in Courthouse Parking Garage

Orange County Sheriff John Mina announced the arrest of 26-year-old Kenneth Jerome Logan Jr. via an Instagram post on Wednesday. Logan was taken into custody after he reportedly shot at a woman within the parking garage of the Orange County Courthouse.

“Earlier today, a shooting in the parking garage at the Orange County Courthouse disrupted court activities for several hours while our deputies investigated the attempted murder of a woman, who thankfully was unharmed,” the statement read. “Deputies dedicated the afternoon to locating the suspect, and we are pleased to report he was apprehended later that day…. We thank our deputies and detectives for their relentless efforts in capturing this dangerous individual.”

According to FOX 35, deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene around 11:30 a.m.

How Logan Allegedly Concealed Himself in the Woman’s Vehicle

An affidavit obtained by FOX 35 News reveals that the woman discovered her car seat had been adjusted when she entered her vehicle on the fourth level of the parking garage. She noticed something unusual in her back seat, and to her shock, she found Logan aiming a gun at her.

She reportedly inquired of Logan, “Why are you doing this to me?”

In that moment, Logan allegedly discharged a round as the woman fled the vehicle. He pursued her, firing two additional shots, but fortunately, none struck her.

Details of Logan’s Alleged Assault on the Woman

Logan is accused of pursuing the woman and striking her with the gun in the back of her head. He allegedly pinned her down while attempting to reload the weapon. A witness reported that the woman identified herself as Logan’s spouse, as noted by WESH 2 News. She managed to escape from Logan and reached an elevator, where she found safety. Logan was eventually apprehended.

Witness Fero Alhajjah recounted to WESH 2 News that he heard three gunshots within the parking garage. When he asked the woman if she was alright, she responded:

“No, I’m not okay. My husband tried to shoot me.”

As a result of the shooting, the Orange County Courthouse complex was placed on lockdown for several hours. Both the Orlando Fire Department and the Orlando Police Department responded to the scene.

Logan now faces severe charges, including Attempted First Degree Murder with a Firearm. Authorities have leveled multiple charges against him, including Aggravated Battery with a Firearm (Domestic Violence), Armed Burglary of Conveyance with a Firearm, and Robbery with a Firearm, among others.
