Henry Cavill Joins the Exciting New Project.
Warhammer 40,000 is set to be transformed into an animated television series. According to a report by Variety, a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios, Blur Studios, and Games Workshop is underway to bring this iconic sci-fi franchise to life. This new series will serve as a spinoff from the Secret Level episode that was part of a Prime Video anthology. Director Dave Wilson, who helmed the Warhammer 40K episode, will reprise his role in both directing and co-creating the animated series. Notably, renowned Warhammer 40K enthusiast Henry Cavill, already involved in live-action adaptations, is on board as an executive producer.
To Wilson, several other talented individuals from Secret Level are joining this project. Tim Miller, the creator of the original episode, will also serve as an executive producer for the animated series. His company, Blur Studios, which he co-founded, was instrumental in producing the anthology series. Each episode of Secret Level focused on a different video game, even showcasing the short-lived title Concord in animated form.
During a recent financial update, Games Workshop provided insights into the progress of its live-action projects. The development has been gradual, with the creative team just beginning to draft a script years after Amazon secured the rights to the franchise. CEO Kevin Rountree reassured fans about Cavill’s ongoing involvement, addressing concerns that the lack of updates could imply the actor’s exit from the project.
