INDIA: After a long wait and visually stunning trailers and promos, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra finally opened on big screens. Promising to be based on the most-anticipated Astraverse, the audience witnessed the unfolding of the first Bollywood film to spawn its cinematic universe.
Moviegoers sprung to cinemas to experience Ayan Mukerji’s directorial epic-fantasy film. The film’s reviews have also arrived, so let’s see if it lives up to expectations or falls flat on its face.
Twitter reviews are in for Brahmastra

Sanchita Jhunjhunwala from Times Network tweeted, “#Brahmastra has been watched, and it deserves a theatre watch. #AyanMukerji has delivered what he promised he will. The movie is not flawless, of course, but this #AliaBhatt and #RanbirKapoor starrer is good.”
Entertainment Journalist Dipali Patel tweeted, “Amazed to see how #AyanMukerji when he was only 29, could think of making a film like #Brahmastra. A vision I believe has truly paid off. Just finished watching the press show & I must say it’s a movie I’m proud to say is ‘Made In India’.”

Indian film critic, Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#OneWordReview…#Brahmāstra: DISAPPOINTING. Rating: ⭐⭐ #Brahmāstra is a king-sized disappointment… High on VFX, low on content [second half nosedives]… #Brahmāstra could’ve been a game changer, but, alas, it’s a missed opportunity… All gloss, no soul. #BrahmāstraReview.”
Thyview also added, “#Brahmastra Strictly Average. Mediocre 1st half followed by Decent 2nd half. Concept is intriguing, Actors gave it all but completely let down by lackluster screenplay. Dialogues are badly written. Barring a few good scenes, nothing worked.”

The Ayan Mukerji directorial movie debuted in Hindi, Tamil, Telegu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. Shah Rukh Khan also appeared in a cameo role. A few days ago, the makers also unveiled the promo of the Bollywood Superstar in action, which generated a lot of buzz on social media.
Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus, and Starlight Pictures bankrolled the fantasy-adventure film. The feature’s budget is also enormous; with a reported production value of ₹400 crores, it is one of the most expensive films ever made in Bollywood.
