The AI character known as “Tilly Norwood,” created by the London-based firm Particle6, is facing considerable challenges during its promotional tour for the upcoming film Misaligned, which many anticipate will not meet expectations.
During an appearance on Piers Morgan’s YouTube talk show, Piers Morgan Uncensored, the AI model behind Norwood participated in a simulated interview that could be compared to the unsettling sensation that precedes a migraine. The responses were noticeably delayed, and when Norwood did reply, the answers were either vague or incorrect, delivered in a monotonous tone.
This awkward interaction marked a peak of sorts for the Norwood character. When actor Tom Conti asked whether all characters in Misaligned are generated by AI, Norwood initially misinterpreted the question, veering off into a discussion about “exploring new ways to tell stories.” Upon Conti’s correction that he was inquiring about the other actors, Norwood responded: “Ah right, you’re asking about the other actors in Misaligned. They’re all digital twins, just like me. It’s a hybrid production, which means…”
Unfortunately, viewers may remain in the dark regarding what Norwood means by hybrid productions, unless they understand Cantonese. Following another awkward pause, Norwood unexpectedly began delivering a lengthy monologue in that language.

When Morgan questioned why Norwood had suddenly switched to another language “completely randomly, for no reason,” the AI responded, “Oh, my apologies. It seems I had a little hiccup there.” It further claimed that such occurrences happen “not often at all!” and that the transition to Cantonese was a “bit of a curveball even for me.”
To be fair, we must commend Particle6 for showcasing an extraordinary technological achievement. With sufficient processing power, it is indeed possible to create a performance that could rival Piers Morgan’s own style.
