TikTok has released a comprehensive report detailing its significant influence on the U.S. economy, highlighting the platform’s contributions to job creation, business promotion, and opportunities for learning and development.
Conducted by PF Global on TikTok’s behalf, this report gathered insights from 11,123 U.S. adults and over 5,000 businesses, with more than half of the responses coming from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMBs).
The findings indicate that TikTok has generated upwards of $81 billion in economic value for businesses operating in the U.S.

These figures are largely speculative.
According to PF Global, the GDP estimate is derived from projections regarding U.S. businesses’ advertising spend on TikTok, utilizing third-party market data and “a revenue-to-GDP ratio weighted across various advertiser-facing industries.”
This suggests that the reported value is based on estimations rather than concrete contribution data. While this nuance doesn’t undermine the report’s conclusions, it does offer perspective on what these numbers signify.
The report emphasizes TikTok’s role in enhancing visibility for U.S. SMBs and its effectiveness in driving local business discovery.

The findings reveal that TikTok is considered “a vital tool” for U.S. businesses, with 69% of respondents affirming the app’s essential role, and 83% indicating its importance in attracting customers and fostering growth.
A remarkable 93% of business participants noted that utilizing TikTok has helped boost their sales through effective promotion of their products and services, while 75% indicated they have hired creators for paid promotional work.
The report also addresses TikTok Live usage, stating that in 2026, TikTok Shop averaged nearly 595,000 live shopping sessions each month in the U.S., with live-driven sales experiencing a year-over-year growth of 92%.
Here are some additional key statistics:
- The report indicates that 93% of U.S. businesses experienced sales growth after promoting their offerings on TikTok.
- 80% of businesses reported that TikTok facilitated operational scaling.
- Discovery through TikTok led to an estimated $14 billion increase in spending across sectors such as tourism, retail, hospitality, and other services.
The report further estimated that TikTok contributed to 3.6 billion hours of informal learning in the U.S. in 2025, with around 45 million American adults reporting that the app has improved their understanding of career opportunities.
This report appears to reinforce TikTok’s significance in the U.S. market and continues the company’s narrative to justify its operations in the country amidst ongoing discussions regarding potential bans due to perceived connections to the Chinese government.
Following the sale of TikTok’s U.S. division to a consortium of local business leaders, it appears TikTok will maintain its presence in the U.S., which may render the report somewhat redundant.
Nevertheless, it provides a valuable overview of TikTok’s role in the U.S. and illustrates the platform’s ongoing impact, even if the data may appear somewhat conjectural.
