Threads is searching to give customers much more handle more than the in-app knowledge, with a new selection to hide posts that consist of precise terms from your feed, as effectively as the capacity to mute notifications for interactions with your posts.
1st off, on hidden words. Now, Threads customers will be in a position to specify words, phrases and emojis that they do not want to see, which will then exclude posts that consist of these components from their feed, search final results and profile view.
So for instance, if you do not want to study something about “X’ or “Elon Musk,” which are each well known subjects of discussion in the app, you will now be in a position to exclude them from your view, and hold your timeline as you like it.
The selection replicates the identical on Instagram, which Meta initially added to DMs back in 2021. It is now also obtainable for your IG feed, giving more choices for curating your in-app knowledge.
It could be a superior way to get rid of the junk from your Threads stream, specifically if there’s that one particular subject of conversation that you genuinely do not care about, but it keeps coming up.
You can uncover the new “Hidden Words” selection in your Threads settings.
The other new update is the capacity to mute notifications for interactions with your posts.
So if you are sick of seeing updates in your notifications about how persons are engaging with a precise update, you can now switch them off, saving you from receiving alerts about the identical.
I imply, if you are receiving so quite a few notifications that they’ve develop into tiresome, superior for you, I guess, although there is precise worth in becoming in a position to mute notifications about a post that could have gained consideration for much less than excellent factors.
In addition to this, the Threads group says that it is also began testing quote controls, which will allow customers to dictate who can quote their original Threads posts. Customers will also be in a position to “unquote themselves” if somebody quotes their posts.
These are handy updates, which will place much more handle more than your in-app knowledge in your hands. And they could be hugely helpful for these dealing with undesirable consideration, or if you just do not want to see stuff about particular persons or subjects any longer.
Each hidden words and notification controls are becoming rolled out to all Threads customers from these days.
