Blanchard described her birth experience as “amazing” and filled with emotion. Her daughter is now eight weeks old and was born at just 36 weeks gestation. Initially, the couple had planned for an elective induction on January 16th, intending to have Ken’s mother present for the birth. However, Baby Aurora had her own timeline, leading to an unexpected delivery. After a routine check-up at her 35th week, things escalated quickly, and Rose found herself giving birth at 36 weeks and three days. She recounted, “My water partially broke, and when I arrived at the hospital, I was already five and a half to six centimeters dilated,” she explained. Following that, medical staff administered an epidural and a Pitocin drip, which initiated her labor.
“I didn’t feel anything. No screaming, no nothing,” she recalls. “We just pushed, and within 15 minutes, she was born,” she said, reflecting on the astonishing speed of the delivery.
Although the couple has chosen not to reveal Aurora’s face to the public just yet, following their exclusive birth story with PEOPLE, Ken did share a heartwarming photo of their family during their hospital stay, highlighting a tender moment where Gypsy Rose appears to be breastfeeding her newborn.
How Rekindled Romance Blossomed Into Parenthood
In the year following her release, Rose navigated significant changes in her personal life, transitioning from her marriage to Ryan Anderson to a separation, moving in with her father and his wife, and ultimately finalizing their divorce. During this transformative period, Rose rekindled her relationship with Ken, whom she had previously dated while incarcerated. Their friendship flourished, transitioning from a fun outing in New Orleans to a deep romantic connection. Now, together they are joyfully raising baby Aurora, marking a beautiful new chapter in their lives!
While Rose has opted to stay away from social media, Ken remains active online. He recently shared moments from their first postpartum date night in late January, showcasing their commitment to nurturing their relationship post-baby.
On Valentine’s Day, Ken made it extra special for Gypsy by surprising her with a romantic gesture that included red roses, chocolate-covered strawberries, and an assortment of chocolates. In a heartfelt caption, he expressed, “Beyond excited to spend this day with you! Happy Valentine’s Day, Gyps ❤️.”
