LinkedIn is exploring an innovative approach to enhance user engagement by introducing a variety of suggested feeds alongside the standard news feeds that users typically see.

In a recent example shared by Julia Cabral Flavin, LinkedIn’s Senior Director of Product Marketing, we see the platform testing topic-centric content feeds tailored for users. These feeds will be recommended based on users’ interactions within the app and trending news stories likely to spark general interest.
Cabral Flavin stated that LinkedIn aims to empower professionals by keeping them updated on significant news relevant to their fields. This initiative also seeks to broaden user engagement and reinforce LinkedIn’s role as a vital source of news and information.
While this concept may seem new, LinkedIn previously experimented with similar alternative feed options last year to increase content visibility within the app.

This previous test appeared to have a limited response from some users, indicating that LinkedIn may not have achieved the desired engagement. the current approach aims to showcase a wider array of content spanning various key topics.
Notably, LinkedIn has reported consistent growth in user engagement across its quarterly performance updates. In May, new CEO Daniel Shapero announced that LinkedIn posts rose by 14% in Q1 2026, while paid video content experienced nearly 30% year-over-year growth.
This surge in content suggests that LinkedIn has a wealth of material to offer users. By diversifying its presentation options beyond the main feed, the platform could significantly boost reach and engagement.
Cabral Flavin mentioned that LinkedIn is currently testing these suggested feeds with select users attending the Cannes Lions festival this week. Initial feedback has been positive, indicating that a broader rollout may be imminent.
