This exciting new lineup of studios contributing to Visions combines fresh talent with artists who previously participated in the acclaimed first season. Returning studios include Kamikaze Douga, known for their work on Batman Ninja, which produced the incredibly popular short “The Duel,” introducing audiences to the intriguing ex-Sith Ronin character. Trigger, celebrated for titles such as Promare, Gridman, Kill La Kill, and Dynazenon, is back with their contributions to “The Twins” and “The Elder.” Additionally, Production I.G., renowned for classics like Ghost in the Shell, returns with “The Ninth Jedi,” while Kinema Citrus, known for Made in Abyss, will be revisiting “The Village Bridge.” Three of these beloved shorts will receive sequels titled “The Duel: Payback,” “The Village Bride: The Lost Ones,” and “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope.”
Furthermore, a selection of new studios will also be joining this vibrant project. Kamikaze Douga will collaborate with Anima, recognized for works like Hack and Sandland, on a sequel. Meanwhile, the standalone newcomers include David Production, famous for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure; Wit Studio, known for Attack on Titan and Spy x Family; Polygon Pictures, which has contributed to Transformers Prime, Tron: Uprising, and is best known in the Star Wars universe for its support work on Clone Wars and Resistance; and Project Studio Q, a cutting-edge CG house that emerged from the team behind Evangelion and Gundam GQuuuuuuX, following their work on Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time.
Additionally, a thrilling new extended format spin-off titled Star Wars Visions Presents was announced during the panel. This exciting series will revisit previous stories and worlds depicted in the Visions series, expanding them into a longer, more detailed format. Presents will see Production I.G.’s esteemed Kenji Kamiyama return to direct The Ninth Jedi, bringing back the protagonist Kara for an all-new adventure that appears to be distinct from the sequel short “Child of Hope.”
