Shooting Death Ruled a Homicide

Alex Pretti‘s shooting death in Minnesota has been officially classified as a homicide. This classification comes from the medical examiner involved in the case.
A recent document from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner confirms that Pretti’s manner of death is classified as homicide.
The document, obtained by TMZ, lists “multiple gunshot wounds” as the cause of death. Medical examiner Dr. Andrew Baker noted that Pretti was “shot by law enforcement officer(s).”
Pretti was described as standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 147 pounds. He was 37 years old and divorced at the time of his death.

On January 24, 2026, Pretti was shot by a Border Patrol agent and a Customs and Border Protection officer in Minneapolis. This incident occurred 11 days after he had a previous altercation with immigration officers.
The medical document also indicates that Pretti’s body was sent to a funeral home following the incident.
Pretti would have celebrated his 38th birthday next month.
