Understanding Endometriosis: What You Need to Know
Endometriosis is a chronic condition that can be quite painful for women. It occurs when tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside of the uterus, as noted by the Mayo Clinic. This condition often impacts the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and pelvic tissue, leading to various symptoms.

Barbara Palvin Sprouse’s Experience with Endometriosis: Surgery and Recovery
In a heartfelt Instagram post dated August 2025, Barbara first revealed her struggle with endometriosis. She candidly shared that it had been some time since she had posted on social media.
“I want to provide a little update and share some thoughts for those who may relate to my experience,” Barbara wrote. “For several years, I’ve been enduring the difficulties associated with my menstrual cycle, including fatigue, severe pain, heavy and irregular bleeding, and sleepless nights spent on the bathroom floor. I assumed this was just how my body worked. Recently, however, I was encouraged to consult an endometriosis specialist to determine if my symptoms were related to this condition.”
Despite having regular check-ups with a gynecologist every year, Barbara thought she would have been informed about her condition by now.
“I assumed if I had endometriosis, I would have known by now. endometriosis cannot be diagnosed through general examinations,” she explained. “After visiting the specialist, I underwent surgery three months later.”
After the operation, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel shared that she finally had a much easier menstrual cycle. She took this opportunity to urge her followers to seek medical advice if they suspect they might have endometriosis.
“The surgery significantly helped me, and I am thankful that I took that step,” she stated. “Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for preventing long-term complications. Now, I am more aware of my body and quick to take action when necessary.”
