If you wished to watch Obsession from the comfort of your home, your wish has come true. Focus Features has officially released Obsession for digital download and announced that a physical media version will be available starting July 14. This news comes as an unexpected delight!
Written and directed by Curry Barker, Obsession has emerged as one of the year’s most surprising hits (unless you followed my predictions back in January). The film centers on a character named Bear (Michael Johnston), who longs for his friend Nikki (Inde Navarrette) to love him above all else. Remarkably, his wish comes true. This leads to one of the most startling and discussed horror films in recent memory. The film, despite its modest budget, has achieved phenomenal success, amassing nearly $400 million globally so far.
Now, you can enjoy this gripping film at home. The release includes several special features, which we will outline below. io9 has an exclusive clip showcasing Johnston, Navarrette, and Barker discussing the film’s breathtaking conclusion.

There is a director’s commentary by Curry, but there are no deleted scenes included.
Experiencing Obsession in theaters was truly remarkable, which is why its home release has taken longer than usual.
